Last Saturday morning, about 3 o'clock, as Mr. Howe, draper and tailor, was returning from Stoke to Boxford, near the Green Lane, Polsted, a man rushed from the hedge, and attempted to seize the bridle of his horse; but failing in the attempt, (by the motion of the spirited animal,) he presented a gun, which fortunately flashed in the pan, and Mr. H. escaped without injury.

The Annual Meeting of the Boxford Association for prosecuting Felons, will be held at the Fleece in Boxford, on Thursday the 20th July instant, at Eleven o'clock in the forenoon, to settle the Treasurer's accounts; and after Twelve o'clock, no claims upon this society will be attended to.

Whereas some evil disposed Person or Persons did, on Sunday night last, or early on Monday morning, rob Mr. CARR's Garden, in Boxford, of FRUIT, and stripped one tree in particular of between Four and Five Score of remarkable large very fine Peaches, and did other considerable damage. Whoever will discover the person or persons who committed the said offences, so that he or they may be apprehended and punished, shall receive a reward of ONE GUINEA of the said Mr. Carr, over and above what will be paid by the said Association, of which he is a member.

Whereas Joseph Micklefield, Apprentice to John Anderson of Boxford in Suffolk, blacksmith, hath lately absented himself from his service, any person giving information of him to said John Anderson shall be handsomely rewarded for their trouble. The said Joseph Micklefield is about 5 feet high, light hair and fair complexion; had on, when he absented himself, a fustian frock, red waistcoat and leather breeches. J. Anderson.
