BOXFORD THROUGH THE AGES - By Roger Loose

Drawing on an extensive archive of documents and personal reminiscences, and illustrated by numerous photographs and maps, Roger Loose's new history of Boxford describes how a prehistoric river crossing in a fertile Suffolk valley evolved into a prosperous Mediaeval wool town, then into a poor but independent-minded farming town, and eventually into the busy and prosperous village of today.

Roger Loose has lived in Boxford for 27 years and this book is the result of his love for this unique village and the many requests to 'write down' what he has discovered. It tells its story from people's first arrival to the present day.

To discover more about the life and times of the people who lived here before us, this is a 'must read'. Its 190 pages include a detailed index, four new full-colour maps and 43 photos and illustrations, many never published before, and including some familiar faces.

After costs have been met, all proceeds will go to the Boxford Society, Registered Charity Number 266499.
