Plans are well in hand for the village buffet supper at the Village Hall on Saturday, January 24, to launch the appeal on behalf of the Pavilion Building Fund. This is not intended as a money raising effort in itself. Its object is to let the village know what is being planned and by this means to interest as many people as possible in the project. There will also be the draw for the special prize of £10 for contributors to Little Ernie, together with other attractions. Already many promises of help have been received and it is hoped that everyone interested in the future of the village will support the council. Tickets are now on sale at the modest price of 4s.

During the Christmas holiday some public spirited young people organised their own carol singing party and collected £4 10s. for the pavilion - a very good effort - and the Youth Club is busy appealing for sponsors for their marathon table tennis match starting on Friday evening.
