At the monthly meeting of the Boxford branch held on Friday last presided over by the chairman, Mr. J. A. Stedman, it was announced that following on the resignation of the hon. secretary and the decision to split his responsibilities amongst several members, Mr. Jack Downes had agreed in future to take charge of all the arrangements for Remembrance Sunday, together with the church service and the annual parade.

Among the correspondence received was notification of the annual conference to be held at Brighton in May and a reminder that in 1971 the Legion will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. It was suggested that this should be borne in mind when planning any programme for next year.

A discussion took place on means of increasing the membership of the branch which has remained stationary for some time. A suggestion was made that a branch supper should be organised in conjunction with the Women's section with the idea of attracting newcomers to the village who might be interested in joining. The matter was referred to the entertainments committee for their consideration. The date of the next meeting was fixed for Friday March 6 at the White Hart , Boxford.
