The monthly meeting of the Women's Section of Boxford, Groton and Edwardstone branch was held in the Village Hall on Wednesday. The chairman, Mrs. Saunders, welcomed Mrs. Tarbet and Mrs. Marriott who had not been able to attend meetings lately.
Notice was given of a group meeting at Glemsford on March 12 and a 'Get Together' at Thurlow on March 17. At least a dozen members expressed their intention of attending each of these functions.
An Entertainment Committee was formed to join with the men's section in the organisation of a branch social evening on a suitable date in the near future.
Mrs. Swan introduced Mrs. Needs of Polstead, who gave a most entertaining talk and explained the method she used to make framed displays of dried flowers, grasses, fir cones, seed heads, etc. These were much admired and Mrs. Needs kindly presented one of the displays as a raffle prize the proceeds of which she gave to the Branch funds.
Mrs. Saunders thanked Mrs. Needs for her talk, her demonstration, and her generosity.
