At the buffet supper which is being held at the Village Hall on Saturday next, an artist's impression in colour of the proposed pavilion to be built on the Croft Recreation Ground will be displayed together with plans of the field and suggestions for further development. It is also hoped to announce a more definite estimate of the cost and the amount which will have to be raised locally.
The presentation of a cheque, representing the proceeds of the Table Tennis Marathon will be made by members of the Youth Club and the draw for the special prize of £10 in the "Little Ernie" will be made. A sweepstake on the Grand National has also been organised and this will be launched in the course of the evening.
The ladies are providing plenty of refreshments under the leadership of Mrs. Joyce Saunders, and there will be a licensed bar. Tickets priced 4s are selling rapidly.
This supper has not been planned to raise money. Its object is to obtain the co-operation of as many people as possible in a scheme which it is hoped will benefit the village as a whole and the young people in particular.
